Coca‑Cola HBC, recognized as the most responsbile company in Romania for the second year in a row, launches a new Sustainability Report

Coca‑Cola HBC Romania, the largest company in the local beverages industry, was recognized, for the second year in a row, the most responsible company in Romania and ranks first in the top of the most transparent and involved companies in Romania, regarding the CSR and the environment „Romania CSR Index”*. Coca‑Cola HBC Romania registered a score of 94.57%, an increase of approximately 9% compared to the core it had in 2016.

This recognition is based on the analysis of the Coca‑Cola HBC Romania Sustainability Report of 2015, through which the company communicates the results it registered in four of the most important areas of interest: community, environment, workplace and market. 

Respecting its promise to generate community wellbeing and inspire a better future, Coca‑Cola HBC Romania invested, in 2015, over 700,000 EURO in CSR programs. 

Some of the most important results integrated in the Sustainability Report are:

- Over 90% of the company's suppliers are local.

- Coca‑Cola HBC Romania reduced CO2 emissions by 5.32% compared to 2014.

- Half of the electricity used in Timisoara and Poiana Negrii plants comes from renewable sources. The company invested, in 2015, approximately 245,000 EURO in implementing energy efficiency technologies. - Over 66,500 trees were planted with the support of Coca‑Cola HBC, in activities developed in partnership with NGOs and with the help of volunteers from the company. 

- Over 700 members of the Coca‑Cola HBC Romania team were involved in volunteer activities in 2015.

- Over 45% of the company's employees were involved in leadership and management programs.

Sustainability is a priority for us and is integrated in the business strategy of Coca‑Cola HBC. The importance we give to this area goes beyond numbers and reports: our colleagues are sustainability ambassadors, they actively promote a responsible lifestyle. Many of them are involved directly in reducing the impact on the environment, are volunteers in environment and community projects. The 2015 Sustainability Report shows our progress in this area, of which we are very proud. But the biggest joy comes from the fact that we see how Coca‑Cola HBC team supports the company’s philosophy: we are, always, what we leave after us.
