We have been following the news from Ukraine with heavy hearts.
In Romania, we are helping in any way we can, which means actively supporting the efforts of local authorities, organizations and NGOs, and a great number of volunteers to help those who have been forced to flee their homes.
DONATIONS OF FUNDS AND PRODUCTS
To date, the Coca-Cola System in Romania has donated €150,000 to the humanitarian aid initiatives of the Romanian Red Cross and “Zi be Bine” Association. These funds are being used to purchase food, hygiene products, and medicines for convoys going into Ukraine or to refugee centers.
We have also donated more than 119,000 liters of product to over 30 organizations, to reach border crossing points, airports and railway stations where refugees arrive, or to accommodation centers set up in bordering countries and Bucharest.
STRONGER TOGETHER – CUSTOMER COLLABORATIONS
Since day one, we teamed up with our partners who offered to help refugees. We donated beverages to the Hotel Mandachi, where the owner quickly set up one of the largest refugee accommodation sites in Suceava.
We also partnered with the biggest humanitarian event organized in Romania, Saga Festival – WE ARE ONE, that took place on the 12th of March, by donating products from our portfolio. Funds raised during the day of the concert reached €900,000, which was directed to Red Cross Romania, to help people in Ukraine.
We remain in close contact with central and local authorities, NGOs and private entities and we will continue to help where needed.
OUR PEOPLE GENEROUSLY VOLUNTEERING THEIR TIME
We have been inspired by the actions our teams and would like to thank those who have donated, volunteered their time and even opened up their homes to support those seeking sanctuary.
Our thoughts are with the millions of people affected by this conflict. Our overriding hope is for peace in the region.
